The Putnam County Farm Bureau board met last night (3/5/2012) and took action on the appointment of a new Vice President. Kim Ames agreed to serve for the coming year. Kim farms with his dad and brothers on Ames 4K farms. Also, the boards meeting date was changed to the second Tuesday of each month to better accommodate board member's schedules. Plans are still being developed for a Young Farmer dinner meeting with this year's senior Ag students in the County. The board also authorized a name change from Womens Leader committee to Promotion and Education Committee. Phyllis Legan is chairman of this committee and will continue to work with activities such as Farming in the Classroom, FB Scholarships, and Food Check-out week.
